The Dream

I swear my heart stuttered and stopped beating when Daniel first appeared in his alien blue robes. When he looked straight through me like I was just another stranger, it turned to ice.

Reluctantly, he came home with us. Little by little, his memories of Stargate Command returned, though tantalizingly, nothing of his time as an Ancient remained, so he said.

I didn't tell him about 'us' - didn't want to take advantage of his post mortem amnesia, but eventually he figured out the precise nature of our 'friendship' and we took up where we'd left off.

Post-coitally, I told him about The Dream. He'd come to me one night, shortly after he'd ascended. He took my hands and pulled me out of bed. We stood together, naked. He kissed me and it seemed like we were floating, gently rotating, in a soft light.

The kiss never faltered as silky glowing tendrils wrapped around me like a protective cocoon. We passed through the ceiling, up over the Springs and out into space. Drifting through the void I could hear strange sounds - some deep, some flute-like - all energizing.

Daniel broke the kiss then. "It's 'the music of the spheres,'" he said. "Enjoy."

He resumed the kiss. As our lips met, it seemed like our bodies had separated into millions of glowing particles that harmonized and coalesced. In our cocoon of light, we two had become a single being. I knew him absolutely and he me. The feeling was beyond orgasmic - light years beyond. Indescribable. I wanted it to last for ever.

When I awoke, I found I'd slept the clock round. Since then, I've relived the dream many times in my imagination.

"It was the most wonderful experience ever— Unforgettable."

Blue eyes, sparkling with love, met mine. "It was, wasn't it..." he smiled.
